Functionally, the TBT-UDM features updated firmware optimized for today’s Mac systems. But the TBT-UDM will still work just as well as the TBT4-UD5 with Windows hosts, should you want the TBT-UDM specifically for the design.

The port layout and specifications remain the same between the two devices, as well as the accessories including the power adapter and Thunderbolt 4 cable.
