If DisplayLink Manager is running but a DisplayLink-connected monitor remains blank or does not appear in macOS Displays settings, the monitor may have been turned off within DisplayLink Manager. Check the display toggle before changing other settings.

Applicable To

Mac computers using DisplayLink Manager with a Plugable DisplayLink-based dock or USB graphics adapter.

Check the Display Toggle

  1. Click the DisplayLink Manager icon in the macOS menu bar.
  2. Open the Displays tab in the DisplayLink Manager status window.
  3. Locate each connected DisplayLink monitor and make sure its toggle is set to On.
  4. Check whether the monitor becomes active and appears in Apple menu > System Settings > Displays.

If the Display Is Already On

If the toggle is already on, or the monitor is not listed in DisplayLink Manager, this specific setting is unlikely to explain the blank display. Check the DisplayLink Manager screen access permission and the physical dock, cable, and monitor connections using our broader macOS setup guide.
