My Docking Station and connected devices are not detected when I restart my M1 Mac computer

Some users have reported that after installing macOS 11.1, our UD-ULTCDL, UD-ULTC4K, and UD-3900PDZ USB-C Triple Display Docking Stations may not be correctly detected by Apple’s MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini computers with M1 processors after being restarted or when powered on after being turned off. This issue affects the UD-ULTCDL, UD-ULTC4K, and UD-3900PDZ docking stations along with any connected USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices, including the two DisplayLink based video outputs, Ethernet, and audio controlled by the DisplayLink USB Graphics chipset. The HDMI 4K output and connected display will most likely be functional after reboot. Charging should be unaffected.


Until Apple issues an update that resolves these USB detection issues we recommend unplugging the docking station from the computer, then reconnecting it after macOS has completed loading. If the suggested unplug/reconnect of the dock does not help, power off the M1 system for 60-90 seconds and try connecting the dock again after logging back in. 


We are hopeful this issue will be resolved by an update to macOS but do not have a timeline for such a resolution. As of macOS 11.6 this issue is still present.
