You can connect a wide variety of Thunderbolt™ and USB-C devices to the single downstream Thunderbolt 5/USB-C port on the dock. This port provides up to 30W of Power Delivery for compatible peripherals and can be used to connect Thunderbolt or USB-C accessories such as external storage devices, AI enclosures, and other high-performance Thunderbolt peripherals.

The downstream Thunderbolt 5 port supports up to 80Gbps of bandwidth, with support for 120Gbps via Bandwidth Boost when used with compatible hosts and devices. However, the actual functionality of this port is ultimately determined by the capabilities of the host computer.

To put that another way:

If the host computer has Thunderbolt 5 technology built in, the downstream port on the dock will function as a Thunderbolt 5 port.

If the host computer has Thunderbolt 4 technology built in, the downstream port will function as a Thunderbolt 4 port (up to 40Gbps).

If the host computer has USB4 technology built in, the downstream port will function as a USB4 port (up to 40Gbps).
