For full functionality, the UD-MSTHDC requires that the host computer have at least one of the following ports:

  • Thunderbolt 4 or 3 port
  • USB Type-C ports with Alt Mode (DP) and Power Delivery (PD) support

And that the host computer be running ChromeOS (a Chromebook) or Windows.  The UD-MSTHDC is NOT compatible with Mac computers running macOS.

Additionally, the host computer needs to have a processor that supports DP 1.4 (such as Intel 11th gen CPUs or newer) to fully support all external display resolutions and refresh rates, as noted below:

  • DP 1.4 hosts support up to two 4K 60Hz external displays
  • DP 1.2 hosts support up to two 1080p 60Hz external displays

To determine which processor your laptop has, you can go to Settings -> About ChromeOS -> Diagnostics, and note the first two numbers in the Intel CPU's name (i.e. 11xxx or 12xxx means 11th and 12th generation respectively.
