The Plugable USB2-E100 is an end-of-life product that can provide a 10/100 Mbps wired Ethernet connection for compatible Roku Streambar devices. This article is being retained for customers who still use the USB2-E100 and as a reference for identifying Ethernet adapter chipsets that may be compatible with supported Roku devices.

Why Is the USB2-E100 Compatible With Roku Streambar Devices?

The USB2-E100 uses an ASIX AX88772-family chipset and supports 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. Roku identifies 10/100 Mbps USB Ethernet adapters using an AX8877X or SMSC95XX chipset as compatible options for supported Roku devices.

Roku notes that USB Ethernet adapters that also support Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps) are not compatible for this use.
