The UD-4VPD docking station can drive up to a maximum of two external displays using USB4 DisplayPort tunneling or USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode, and DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) to split the video signal to support two HDMI displays.

The docking station provides two labeled HDMI output, HDMI 1 and HDMI 2, each port is capable of supporting a single external display with resolutions and refresh rates up to 4K UHD 120Hz, depending on the system's specifications. We provide additional display compatibility details in our Knowledge Base Article here.

This docking station is recommended for use with Windows 11 based notebook computers with USB4 or Thunderbolt 4, as USB 3 Type-C systems will have reduced display resolution and refresh rates. We do not recommend this docking station for use with Apple systems as macOS does not support DisplayPort MST and will only be capable of supporting one external display, additionally macOS will limit the single external display to a maximum of 4K UHD 60Hz refresh rate.

Note — Not all computers with USB Type-C ports support USB4, Thunderbolt 4, or USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode to enable this docking station's HDMI outputs. Most Desktop computers, and older notebooks do not support these features.
