One very useful use-case for the Plugable USB-AUDIO audio adapter is that it can add speaker / headphone, and microphone functionality to many consoles. We have verified that this audio adapter is compatible with the Sony PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch dock.
How to adjust audio settings on PlayStation:
- Plug the USB-AUDIO adapter into any available USB-A port on the front or back of the PS5 console.
- Connect your headphones (Green jack) and/or microphone (Red jack) to the adapter.
- On the PS5 dashboard, navigate to Settings/Sound (Gear icon) > Sound.
- Under Microphone > Input Device, select USB Headset (USB Audio Device).
- Under Audio Output > Output Device, select USB Headset (USB Audio Device).
How to adjust audio settings on Nintendo Switch:
- The Switch must be docked. Plug the adapter into one of the USB ports on the side of the Nintendo Switch Dock.
- The audio should automatically route to the adapter.
