Applicable To
- USB-VOX
The Plugable USB-VOX is discontinued, and this article is maintained for users who still use it. If the microphone is connected but is not recording sound, first confirm that it is receiving power, then make sure it is selected as the computer's recording device.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Connect the USB-VOX microphone to the computer.
- Confirm that the blue LED on the microphone illuminates.
- If the blue LED does not illuminate, confirm that the USB cable is fully connected to the bottom of the microphone.
- Confirm that the other end of the USB cable is fully connected to the computer or USB hub.
- If the blue LED is illuminated but the microphone is not recording sound, open your operating system's audio settings.
- Select the USB-VOX as the preferred or default audio input device.

Expected Result
The blue LED should remain illuminated while the microphone is connected, and the USB-VOX should appear as an available recording device. Once selected as the audio input, applications should be able to record audio from the microphone.
