Last Update: September 28th, 2026
Article ID: 386402

Applicable To

  • UD-CA1A, UD-CAM
  • macOS 10.15.7 Catalina and earlier

This troubleshooting procedure is intended only for legacy macOS versions up to and including macOS 10.15.7 Catalina. The Realtek driver provided in this article is not compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur or newer and should not be installed on those versions of macOS.

Most users on supported legacy macOS versions should experience normal Ethernet functionality using the drivers already built into macOS. If your Ethernet connection isn't working as expected, installing the updated Realtek driver below may resolve the issue.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Confirm that your Mac is running macOS 10.15.7 Catalina or an earlier version of macOS.
  2. Download the updated Realtek Ethernet driver: https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin/Realtek/0012-RTUNICv1.0.17.zip
  3. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
  4. Open the extracted driver package.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Realtek Ethernet driver.
  6. Test the Ethernet connection on the UD-CA1A or UD-CAM.

Expected Result

The Ethernet port on the UD-CA1A or UD-CAM should work normally after you install the updated Realtek driver.

If you are using macOS 11 Big Sur or newer, do not install the Realtek driver provided in this article. This legacy troubleshooting procedure does not apply to macOS 11 or later.
