Thunderbolt™ Share is a software tool from Intel that enables PC-to-PC experiences between two Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 host systems. If you have supported hosts, as well as a Thunderbolt Share licensed PC or accessory, here are some of the features and use cases to make the most out of Thunderbolt Share:

Drag and Drop File Sharing:

With both PC’s connected, you can share or transfer files directly from one computer to another using Thunderbolt Share. No need to use a cloud based service, or transfer files to an external  drive first. Plus, you get faster transfer speeds that take advantage of Thunderbolt’s extreme bandwidth.

This makes things like large file transfers, folder synchronization, and host migration far easier. These file transfers won’t affect Wi-Fi, Ethernet or cloud network performance as it is all handled locally. File transfers are also more secure as you don’t need to worry about misplacing an external drive, or hackers accessing your files on the cloud.

Lagless Remote PC Control:

With Thunderbolt Share, you can seamlessly use both PC’s simultaneously with virtually no lag. It also allows you to share the mouse and keyboard across both PC’s, removing the need for a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch.

This is a great feature for those who want to simultaneously have access to both a desktop PC and a laptop, allowing both hosts to use the same mouse, keyboard, and monitor. If you need to juggle between work and personal tasks, Thunderbolt Share helps enable this.

Multi Computer Setups:

The control of multiple hosts at the same time allows for multi-computer setups to run smoother than ever.

If you are a streamer with a separate and dedicated streaming PC or server, you can now control / monitor both setups simultaneously. Creatives with dedicated rendering devices can be working on additional projects while monitoring the rendering process on the other device. Overall, this reduces bottlenecks and increases productivity for multi-computer users.

These are just a few of the plenty of other ways Thunderbolt Share can help with users interacting with multiple hosts. As a reminder, a Thunderbolt Share licensed product is required in order for the Thunderbolt Share software to work.
