You can connect many different types of Thunderbolt™ and USB-C devices to the three Thunderbolt 5/USB-C ports on the the dock (two on the back and one on the front). These ports can be used to connect up to two displays via USB-C/Thunderbolt or via USB-C to HDMI or USB-C to DisplayPort cables/adapters (sold separately like Plugable SKUs: USBC-DP, USBC-TDP, USBC-HDMI, and USBC-HDMI-CABLE).

Additionally connect USB-C and Thunderbolt peripherals such as external drives, AI enclosures, and external GPUs (eGPU). (Note: eGPUs are not currently supported in macOS)

The three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports provide up to 80Gbps or 120Gbps via Bandwidth Boost. However, please note that the type of functionality provided by the three ports on the dock is ultimately determined by the capabilities of the host computer.

To put that another way, if the host computer has Thunderbolt 5 technology built-in, then the three ports on dock will function as Thunderbolt 5 ports.

If the host computer has Thunderbolt 4 technology built-in, then the three ports on dock will function as Thunderbolt 4 ports (up to 40Gbps).

If the host computer has USB4 technology built-in, then the three ports on dock will function as USB4 ports (up to 40Gbps).
