Yes. The UD-3900C4 can be used with compatible Intel and Apple Silicon Mac computers, but macOS supports a maximum of three unique extended displays through this docking station.
Why Are Only Three Unique Displays Supported on macOS?
The UD-3900C4 uses two different display technologies for its four HDMI outputs.
HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 use DisplayLink technology. These two displays can operate as independent extended displays on macOS when you install and configure the DisplayLink Manager application.
HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 use the Mac's native DisplayPort video output. macOS does not support Multi-Stream Transport (MST), so these two outputs cannot function as separate extended displays. Instead, HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 will mirror each other.
This allows the UD-3900C4 to provide up to three unique extended displays on a Mac:
Two displays through HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 using DisplayLink
One unique native display across HDMI 3 and HDMI 4
How Do I Set Up DisplayLink on macOS?
DisplayLink Manager must be installed and configured for displays connected to HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 to function on macOS.
